PCL - Writing and agreeing a contract

It occurred to me that Marty and I are need to define our roles within the collaboration so that we can focus our attention to specific sides of the brief. We've been working really well together so far on the concept and brand name however, we need to separate the work load and focus on different areas to get more of our targets completed.

I suggested that we write up a contract that outlines our specific roles within the brief and also within the business.

This is what I came up with...

Roles within the collaboration.

Charles Crosby

Brand and Identity – this includes designing the logo and finalizing the name of the company, writing the briefs and briefing the other collaborators where necessary.

Social and business networking – this covers the social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram alongside the business network of Linkdin and an additional blog on Tumblr.

Marketing strategy – covers research into current events and opportunities to get involved with to promote our business. This may also include organization of exhibitions and events of our own.

Market research – This ranges from field trips to other shops, factories, printers and fashion houses.

 Chief designer and print maker – this regards the design of the clothing and designs as well as seeing them through to print. This is mainly to do with the clothing print and pop event collateral.


Marty Edwards

Editorial director – specific role of designing and developing the editorial requirements of the business. This will range from editorial publications, to look books and digital e-zines.

Web and layout designer – this covers the design of the website and the websites functionality. It will tie in closely with the social and business networking.

Market research – covers research into other companies editorial designs, current fashion trends and methods of delivery.

Co Chief designer and print maker – this regards the design of the clothing and designs as well as seeing them through to print. This will focus on the production of the editorial pieces and proposal boards for the web design.

Financial Backer – I will be responsible for the financial backing placed into the business (no profit will be taken from either collaborator until we break even)
