These are the 10 final images i've chosen for the Photography Workshop brief. They were all taken during the session and they all carry the theme of the object being the colour i was given to investigate, violet, and the background is the opposite colour. This has given the pictures a great vibrancy.
Working in pairs we experimented with gels and different camera settings, above we used an orange gel and a blue gel on either side to make the shadows of the watering can change colour. The background has also changed from yellow to a sort of pale orange.
Changing the settings can create real subtleties in the final image, see how the one above is bright and appears misty towards the right side of the watering can. Below its much more defined and the yellow is more bold and dull.
This one is my favourite because of the way the shadows are unbalanced, it reminds me of some screen pints i saw once where the image was printed 3 times overlapping oddly but each time it was printed it used a different colour Cyan, Magenta and Yellow.
