These are the initial back ground ideas i had for my booklet. I've used a similar colour scheme to Blogger with the orange and blue and i've made the corners of any shapes rounded like the logo.
I'm not overly keen on the colour scheme at the moment and i think their may perhaps be too much colour in the design.
I prefer these two more than the others at the top of this post, they have a nice simplicity about them and aren't as in your face. Still i think they need to be more visual engaging as the content of my booklet is formal with only a few hints of humour and playfulness.
