What is a line? - Traces Layered.

I've layered up some of the traces so that they over lap and interfere with each other to make more complex and abstract shapes. Next i'm going to add some colour to see how that can change the impact of the work before i apply these to some new photographs.

Some of the results look a bit flat like the ones above but i've noticed that some begin to look like buildings again with a skeletal aesthetic.

The one just above on the left is my favourite so far, i think the composition of it with the vacant space in the top left gives it more shape and it carries a lot of the 3 dimensional traits that influence Delta and the other artists I've been looking at and analysing.

What is a line? - Traces live traced.

These are the traces once edited on illustrator. I've just simple used live trace to pick out the lines and then removed most of the white back ground.

What is a line? - Traces.

I did some quick rough traces of the photos i took picking out certain shapes and lines in the image to create these abstract shapes that i was aiming for. From here I'm going to vector them and make them more crisp and start to deconstruct some of them and rearrange and over lap to get different layered shapes and forms.
