SILENT MOVIE - Screen Grab Time Workshop

This workshop was based around looking at time and considering time in conjunction with our storyboards.
We used the two sets of screen grabs that we were asked to bring to do two different exercises relating to timelines.

The first was to use the evenly spaced screen grabs and place them across one 60cm line equally. The line breaks down into 6 lots of 10 or 25 lots of 2.4. The reason for using 25 screen grabs is that 25 is the amount of frames played in one second of a motion sequence. This really helped to see how much can be considered and happen within one second.

1st exercise.

This way of working is a little bit cramped but it being compact would be a good way of keeping things portable.

The second task was to use the remaining set of screen grabs that show significant changes in the sequence of kinetic type that we were looking at, and to position them across five 60cm timelines. For this I cut mine up and stuck them together to show a map of the sequence.

I felt this way of working was better as there is more room to work on and you get better idea for the length of time between two keyframes.

2nd exercise
